MORTUARY TEMPLE of RAMSES II
KARNAK TEMPLE
LUXOR TEMPLE
Dedicated to Amun-Min, Mut and Khonsu, Luxor Temple was the Harem of the South, where Amuns consort Mut and their son Khonsu resided. Each spring a flotilla of barques escorted Amuns effigy from Karnak Temple to this site at Luxor for reunion with Mut in an Optet or fertility festival. The Temples founder was Amenophis III (1417-1379 bc), work there was also carried out by Tutankhamun and Horemheb. To this Ramses II (1304-1237 bc) added a double colonnaded court and a Pylon flanked by obelisks and colossi.
TOMB of AY
The tomb was built for Tutankhamuns successor in a remote part of the Theban Hills called the Western Valley, Locals named the valley "Wadi Monkey" after the caches of mummified baboons found there. Ay had earlier been Akhenatens vizier and today it is thought that Ay murdered Tutankhamun the boy King. The Photographs Show the Tomb Paintings (very rarely photographed using a Flash ,special permission was given to us ), showing Ay the deceased spearing fish and birds, also the Pink granite Sarcophagus.
